500 horsepower and a top speed of 200 MPH? That's right. Toyota's luxury brand Lexus plans to "explore the outer limits of sports car performance" with the LF-A concept. With proportions that emphasize performance, the concept is one of the most capable vehicles to come out of Japan. Toyota says the LF-A is "Theoretically developed to run in tandem with our efforts in Formula One."

"The LF-A would probably feature a power and drive train system strongly influenced by what's being used in competition at the time." This means strong competition for the Lamborghini Gallardo and Porsche Carrera GT, and a similar price tag that should exceed $100,000.

Visible exterior features include the twin rear mounted radiators within the large screens behinds at the rear corners, unique exhaust outlet within the rear diffuser, and the scoops located at the c-pillar.

Expect a production debut in 2009.
