When a person thinks about the Lexus car company, they envision comfort, style, and a great car to take the kids to soccer or the grocery store in. If a person were to suggest a Ferrari competitor from Lexus, many would probably laugh and consider them crazy. However, Lexus has recently been on a performance kick, and they are introducing some exciting new rides. We showed you the Lexus IS-F recently at the Detroit Auto Show, and now another concept from Lexus has been seen testing on the racetrack.
The new Lexus LF-A looks like no other Lexus ever seen. It is a two door coupe, has the sharp, sleek lines of an Italian thoroughbred, and the performance to match its looks. There has been no official announcement to produce the LF-A, but it has been seen numerous times testing on race tracks, so one is to assume that they are strongly considering taking it to the production stage.
The LF-A is set to have a V10 that creates upwards of 500 horsepower, be rear wheel drive, and front engined. The engine is said to be derived from the Toyota F1 cars V10, so it should have no problem creating the estimated power.
We hope to have more details soon, stay tuned to RPM Planets for more information on the upcoming Ferrari chaser.
