After over 30 years, 9.5 million vehicles, and a place at the top of the podium for most of that time, Honda announced the Accord Coupe concept car at this year's Detroit Auto Show. The Accord has been Honda's best selling car worldwide for years now, and Honda hopes to continue the trend into the next generation.
Honda has always struggled to get the Accord into the same class as the European luxury sedans. With the remodeling of the new Accord, they hope to remove this problem. The sharp, stylish looks are those of a European cruiser, and will definitely get people's attention when it is released next year.
Other than the body shape, not much information was shared at the unveiling, but sources say the powerplant will be an even stronger V6 than what is currently used. It is supposed to be cleaner burning as well, with Honda in a seemingly constant battle to make each new car more environmentally friendly than the last.
The headlights and taillights have a sharp new look, incorporating the latest technology, such as high intensity discharge lighting (HID) to brighten up the road.
