The Subaru WRX STI has been a sweet hit on the streets. Its all wheel drive and 300 horsepower 4 cylinder engine make it one of the most potent cars on the road. Race inspired suspension and brakes keep it at home on the race tracks, and the cars are nearly indestructible on the autocross circuit. However, there are a few drawbacks for some of the older crowd. In an age where movies can inspire an entire generation of cars, some enthusiasts are left wanting a more subtle choice. This is where Subaru steps in, with the all new WRX STi Limited.
The biggest complaint with the STI from most people would be the huge rear wing, the bronze painted wheels, and the bright colored brake calipers. A 40 year-old business man doesn't want to be seen as boy-racer when he drives his clients to lunch, so it was quite logical for Subaru to rethink its audience and offer a more tame version of the same vehicle.
The Limited version loses the rear wing, the bright painted wheels, and the bright painted brake calipers. The wheels are now silver, and the calipers are black. The spoiler is replaced by a small, low profile lip. The front of the vehicle, while still maintaining the newer headlight configuration, receives a new front bumper with a different lip. Two colors are available, white or grey metallic, making the Limited even more concealed in everyday traffic.

Inside the cabin, more upgrades appear. Heated black leather seats provide the posterior positioning, while a sunroof allows light to shine in from above. New carpeting cuts down some of the interior noise, while a special instrument bezel gives drivers something new to look at. Each limited model receives a special plaque stating that it is one of the 800 cars available.

Otherwise, the STI Limited is exactly the same as its standard version. The engine, transmission, tires, and drivetrain all remain unchanged. Subaru is living by the philosophy of, "if it's not broken, why fix it?". Easily understood when the STI gallops to 60 mph in less than five seconds, with a mid 13 second quarter mile, in stock form. Be wary of any white or grey Impreza that revs its engine at you. You may be in for a surprise.
