In a premature release of information, the Lincoln MKR concept sports sedan, which was set to debut in January at the Detroit Auto Show, has been captured in a new video. The breath-taking concept is based on the Mustang platform and features stunning looks coupled with amazing twin turbocharged power. It is truly an example of Ford's capability to produce a challenging opponent for the European crowd.

The MKR sedan features a four door configuration, but lacks any door handles. The absence of handles gives an even smoother and cleaner look to the already sleek outer appearance. Huge 21 inch wheels and tires fill the fender wells, and a dynamic front grille gives viewers no doubt that they are looking at a Lincoln. Finally, passengers can gaze at the stars without leaving the comfort of their seats, as the entire roof is made of glass.

The engine is a twin turbocharged V6 that creates 415 horsepower and is titled "TwinForce". The highlight of the powertrain is that in the age of clean burning vehicles, the MKR sedan produces this amazing power on none other than E85 Ethanol based gasoline. Ford is truly breaking boundaries with this automobile, proving that environmentally friendly vehicles can be amazingly fast. The unique twin turbo configuration is one not seen on many production cars, usually a feature left for the upper echelon European offerings.

The MKR sedan truly shines as one of Lincoln and Ford Motor Companies greatest offerings yet. Enthusiasts have been begging for a turbocharged V6 for some time now, and it appears Ford may finally answer their call. Pieces and parts of the concept are slated to appear in Lincoln's upcoming flagship car in 2008. The engine and transmission are said to already be guaranteed.
