The Ford Escape gets a redesign for 2007. The bold new front end of the Escape gets larger headlights, which are similar to those on new Ford Edge and redesigned Expedition. The front bumper appears to mimic the front of the new Explorer, with a chrome bar centered below the grille opening, as if to give the Escape a more rugged, truck-like appearance. The major improvement to the sides of the new model comes from the removal of the side claddings found on the current models. Camouflage covers the rear, however, the stylish new taillights are visible. Chrome accents are sure to grace the lift gate to match the chrome found up front.

With Ford's restructuring plans announced early this year, it was rumored that the Freestyle would cease production. Instead, Ford has decided to update the Freestyle for the 2008 model year. A 3.5 liter V-6 will replace the 3.0 currently in the Freestyle, giving it much needed performance. The Freestyles appearance is expected to incorporate the same stylish facade as the recent Fusion and the Edge, with the 3 bar chrome grille. |
