Last year at SEMA, attendees stumbled upon a bright orange Ford GT supercar with the top chopped off. While some people consider the Lamborghini style doors one of the most striking features of the GT, they could really make a hassle of a daily commute. Also, some people long for the feeling of the wind in their hair, a sensation that one cannot experience with the base model Ford GT. Genaddi, the creator of the GTX1, aimed to solve both problems, and now they are planning on producing 500 models, and an additional 100 models that exactly mimic the special SEMA edition.
The GTX1 can be customized in any fashion for the customer. The 500 models will basically be a stock Ford GT with the targa top and doors, while the SEMA edition is a completely different animal. Featuring 700+ horsepower, improved braking and seats, as well as a carbon fiber aerodynamic package. Another important feature of the limited 100 model SEMA run is that it is only available in the Valencia orange and silver stripe color scheme, just like the SEMA special.

The basic upgrade price has also been increased from 38,000 to 48,000 dollars. For the collector, however, the GTX1 serial number 001 will be auctioned off at Barrett Jackson's Auto Auction for charity this year. The GTX1 is listed in the NADA collectors value guide, and is also listed by Shelby as a collector car. Genaddi is currently taking orders with production set to finish in August of 2008. See the official site of the GTX1 for more details.
