With a recent dry spell in the saloon world, Chevrolet is revamping one of its subsidiary products for release. Making its debut in Geneva recently, the new Epica is the companys first mid-sized model geared for a European launch, mid-2006. The Epica will set its sights on ample comfort and safety equipment for a valuable price.
Succeeding the Evanda, this front wheel drive sedan shows measurable growth on the exterior, as well as the interior. Two engine types are availableboth inline 6-cylinder engines. The 2.0 and 2.5 liter power plants are rated at 142 and 155, respectively. A new family of common rail turbo diesel engines will soon follow.
The South Korean built sedan will also share components with its Suzuki cousins. Sheet metal, interior trim, and driveline components will also be intermingled. Pricing is not yet set firmly, but some Europeans expect the value to be reflected nicely in the sticker price. |
