Keeping up with the "what next?" question, Powertour 2006 has a 1972 Nova sleeper project completed in an attempt to outshine the Silverado SS that runs 11s from last year. The car itself has all the right ingredients: solid body, faded paint, and a tired demeanor...until you pop the hood. Beneath the hood rests a built 402 cubic inch LS-2, fitted with two (that's right, two) Rotrex Superchargers. As if one isn't enough?
A rear end suspension setup by Smith Race Craft supports the Super Sleeper Nova and Baer brankes bring the underdog to a halt after the victory.

While actual HP figures are not known, it's fair to say 4 digits are not out of the question. An "Octane on Demand" fuel system, controlled by a Big Stuff 3 controller feeds the hungry beast once it's stirred from slumber. Rounding out the sleeper image are some 15" painted wheels and DOT tires. Well, to how fast it actually is, you'll have to visit Gainesville.
If you can't make it, then read more about the project here. |
