Chevy Beat Concept Car

It is fun to look back and see the progression of automotive trends aimed at young car buyers over the last 50 years.  In the 60's, it was huge boats with even bigger engines.  Today, in the age of Hollywood movies, rock music, and three-dollar-a-gallon gas, the audience craves a completely different car.  The Chevy Beat Concept appears to be aimed specifically at the young crowd, with its small exterior, great gas mileage, and large interior.

The Chevy Beat looks and functions very similarly to their popular Chevy Aveo compact coupe.  Featuring a surprisingly roomy interior, the Chevy Beat is probably more comfortable than some of todays sedans.  The rear axle is located at the absolute rear of the car, which helps out with the interior space.  The engine is a 1.2 liter, turbocharged powerplant that is mated to an automatic transmission.  LED lights are utilized on the front and rear lights, and 17 inch wheels meet the pavement.  Shining through the spoke wheels are the body paint matching brake calipers that give the Beat an even sportier feel.  A built in navigation system and Alpine audio system provide even further evidence as to who this car was built for.

With features that appeal to the children raised by myspace and cellular phones, the Chevy Beat is sure to sell like wildfire if it is put into production.  Stay tuned to RPM Planets for more next-generation compact cars from the New York Auto Show.
