Several small compact cars have recently floundered in multiple manufacturers' efforts to further attract Generation Y consumers, with the lack of style and assertiveness cited as the main reason. Several newer models such as the Dodge Hornet concept, Honda Fit, and Dodge Caliber are poised quite well to capture market share, on the other hand. That said, former Ford product planner John Wolkonowicz claimed Ford has plans to bring back the Bronco, in a sharp and crisp package in 2009. Speculation about a new compact hatchback also exists. Could the Ford Reflex concept see production? A little spice never hurt anyone, so we will just have to wait and see. |

A couple of media shots were recently discovered and released by GMInsideNews. The photos are of the forthcoming Chevrolet Suburban with the Z71 package. This sharp, truck-based SUV dons the appliqué well. The Z71 package will be applied to the Chevrolet Tahoe as well. Some speculation about the GMC Yukon getting this package is also lingering. We'll have to wait for this fall to see for sure and you can trust that RPM Planets will keep you posted. |

After what had seemed to be the demise of a once dominant skunk works inside Ford, SVT is slowly rising from the ashes. With the release of the Shelby GT500 right around the corner and the promises of a second SVT vehicle based on a truck platform said to be following closely behind, Ford is promising that SVT will once again live up to its reputation as the premier in house tuning company amongst domestic brands. |

The Generals best selling pickup truck is about to get a replacement. The current Silverado was so popular that it outsold the Ford F-150. Shown above, is a picture of the upcoming 2007 Silverado that should be on sale this fall. GM claims this truck is improved over the model it replaces. As GM is in the middle of a life or death struggle, the GMT-900 [2007 Silverado code name] was pulled ahead by 13 weeks to get the ball rolling with their turn around plan. GM has asked that no specific details of the truck be released until after the official release later next month. |

The issue of what concept is next has been resolved. The images shown here are of the next generation Impala, putting to rest the debate of it possibly being the next Chevy Malibu. These sneaky snapshots were taken of the camouflaged white car while it was running on GM's test circuit. Much debate remains what the next flagship sedan will have for a platform underneath when production time comes, as the Zeta platform may soon replace the Australian Holden Commodore. |

After its debut at the New York Auto Show earlier this year, the Ford F-150 FX2 Sport truck was somewhat left to the wayside. Now that Ford has officially announced the green light on it, potential buyers can aggressively pursue what it's all about. While the powerplant is not decided for certain at this point, it is quite evident the FX2 will come forward with the appearance and amenity upgrades previously described. Several GM media contacts have leaked the fact that the supercharged Blue Devil Corvette is no longer holding the name--the project has reportedly taken the classic Sting Ray mark. Keeping up with the "what next?" question, Powertour 2006 has a 1972 Nova sleeper project completed in an attempt to outshine the Silverado SS that runs 11s from last year. The car itself has all the right ingredients: solid body, faded paint, and a tired demeanor...until you pop the hood. Beneath the hood rests a built 402 cubic inch LS-2, fitted with two (that's right, two) Rotrex Superchargers. As if one isn't enough? |
