The automotive sport of drifting has become quite a hit since coming
from the streets of Japan. Drifting, the art of balancing a car on the
ragged edge of disaster and control, has been seen everywhere from Hollywood
to comic books, and Americans are eating it up. At any given drift
event, there is one car that you are sure to find. The 1980s Toyota
Corolla GTS, or AE86, due to its light weight and rear wheel drive, makes a perfect car for drifting. The Corolla is to drifters what the Fox Body Mustang is
to drag racers. Cheap, fast, and indestructible. With the drifting scene taking off like it is, Toyota is looking to capitalize on this by bringing back the AE86 in the near future. |

Car lovers will take one look at the Exige GT-3 and immediately think of the ultra rare McLaren F1 LM in its bright orange and carbon fiber paint scheme. They will then think about how much they want one of their own. While Lotus has no official plans to produce the GT-3, insiders say they may be easily swayed into making a few track-only models. We say, GO FOR IT!

Well, it's the moment you Kübelwagen dreamers have been waiting for....the new M3 Concept has been unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show. Powered by a smokin' V8, this Concept just lures the doubters out of the woodwork and screams to be driven--hard. BMW World Touring Car champ, Andy Priaulx, took the M3 out and gave it a hard, revving ride. Complimentary accents are a carbon fiber roof, aluminum hood, and 19" alloy wheels. It's highly expected that the production version of the BMW M3 will be debuted at the Frankfurt show later this year. Where's that cute little Audi we've been hearing about? It's time for a duel. Check out the image gallery below for more eye candy. |

The FPV (Ford Performance Vehicles) division, inside Ford of Australia marked the anniversary of the original Ford Falcon GT (click each image for hi res) by crafting a one-of-a-kind 200-car limited edition. This FPV Falcon GT40 (40th Anniversary Edition) has the Boss 290 (5.4L V8) powerplant as a starting point. 290, you ask? 290ci definitely doesn't equate to 5.4 liters of displacement--it's the measurement of kilowatts output by the engine. How about 390 horsepower and 383 pounds of rotational force? I thought you might like that! |
