Is the Audi R8 or the Bugatti Veyron just not rare enough for you? Have you ever found yourself saying You know, Id really
like to buy one of the only twelve Maserati MC12 Corsas. But, its just not quite over-the-top
enough
?
Well, lucky for you, German tuner Edo Competition has come
to the rescue. With a new exhaust
system, new suspension bits, bigger brakes and custom forged wheels, the new
Edo Competition MC12 Corsa should be over-the-top enough for anyone.
Most of the original Maserati MC12 Corsa components have
remained in place. This includes the 6
liter V12 that cranks out 755 hp and 546 ft-lbs of torque, the carbon fiber
monocoque chassis, and the Formula 1 based 6-speed transmission. All of this is enough to propel the Corsa to
60 in less than 3 seconds and to a top speed of 203 mph.
The original Brembo brakes are gone, replaced by a new
ceramic composite system with monster 15.6 inch front rotors and 14.2 inch
rotors in the back. Also out is the
original exhaust system, replaced by a new stainless steel system designed by Edo with 4 inch tips and electronic baffles to control
sound levels.
Edo also has installed a
new front suspension system, designed in house, with three independent
adjustment settings for true customization.
The MC12s nose lifting feature, which allows it to raise the nose to
avoid damaging the front end, remains functional.
New wheels are also installed. The wheels are forged custom pieces created
by Edo measuring in at a massive 19x10 in the
front and even more massive 20x13 in the rear.
The new wheels are wrapped in 265/35/19 and 335/30/20, respectively.
Price? Well, if you
can afford the base price of the Corsa at more than one million dollars, who
really cares? |
