Recent spins from AutoExpress magazine have suggested that Audi has set its sights on contending with the Lotus Elise to capture more of the razor-sharp corner carving market. It's likely to be spun from the TT, in a much smaller form and could quite possibly make an official debut before year's end. Assisted by KTM, an Austrian motorcycle producer, the Elise killer-to-be will cater to the thrill of the driving experience, be extremely exclusive, and in limited (production) numbers. The "baby TT" is viewed to be a roadster built from a carbon fiber chassis and will have very similar traits to the VW EcoRacer concept. The concept will weigh around 1600 pounds and is said that it will achieve nearly 50mpg with a 0 to 60 mph time of less than 6 seconds. Wow! We'll have to see what else the venture between Audi and KTM produces on this one. RPM Planets will keep you posted, so stay tuned.
