To the North American International Auto Show, better known as the Detroit Auto Show, anyway. Jaguar, who plans to debut its futuristic looking sedan next week, states that is not the next S-Type sedan, but it does show the direction that Jaguar is heading for its future vehicles.
The CX-F grabs your attention, wrestles it into a head lock, then takes its lunch money after dispensing an atomic wedgie. The very un-Jaguaresque looks aren't a bad thing, just different from what one is used to seeing from the British automaker. With sharp lines, crisp edges, and futuristic looks, the C-XF makes a bold statement that is sure to please when it is unveiled at the show.
"The Jaguar C-XF concept is the most dynamic and modern four-door car that Jaguar has ever created, a design showcase heralding the next generations of our sports saloon models," says Ian Callum. "It signals a future for Jaguar that is as exciting as the C-XF itself."
The sleek car is powered by a supercharged V8 that Jaguar seems to favor. Making over 400 horsepower, the C-XF will surely satisfy the drivers need for speed, and should have no problems getting the car from point A to point B.
Jaguar takes the interior of the sedan to a level unheard of by Jaguar aficionados, performance over comfort. Lightweight bucket seats take the place of the comfortable, plush settings usually found, while the transmission tunnel splits the passengers in half. The interior also features brushed aluminum, giving the car an even more futuristic feel.
Arguably one of the coolest features of the C-XF is the new JaguarSense system, which uses motions of the hand rather than the push of a button to control the main features of the vehicle. When you are ready to drive, simply push the gemlike button to reveal the shift lever, then prepare to see a bright blue light illuminate the cabin, turning a completely different shade of blue once ignition has completed.
Using a combination of the latest and greatest technology, along with some of the most radical looks to come out of Jaguar since the beginning of the company, Jaguar is poised to take its company into the next century. Stay tuned to Planet Euro and RPM Planets for more Detroit Auto Show releases.
