We have written a few stories on the upcoming Jaguar XF concept car in the past year. We've been waiting and waiting for more information as to whether or not the car will see production, and it seems our cries have been answered. Jaguar recently issued a press release with information as to what engines will be available, and some exciting offerings popped up.
While the XF is still some time off from production, it will make its debut at the Frankfurt auto show this year sporting a V6 engine. While this doesn't seem too exciting, don't lose hope yet. Jag will also offer the XF with a 4.2 liter V8 engine, a supercharged version dubbed the XFS, and a 500 hp and 500 lb ft of torque version named the XFR. While these are great offerings, we are most excited about the 250 hp twin turbo diesel powerplant that will be available. Diesel has made some amazing breakthroughs in the past few years, and many manufacturers are starting to see the positive benefits of diesel power. We hope that the diesel version will make it to the US shores, as sometimes European companies keep their diesel alternatives for themselves across the pond.
Stay tuned to Planet Euro to see what Jaguar has to say about the XF at this years Frankfurt show, and hopefully we will be reporting great news for the future of Jaguar.
