In a paint scheme reminiscent of one of the most incredible supercars in history, the folks at Lotus have once again given enthusiasts something to dream about. Car lovers will take one look at the Exige GT-3 and immediately think of the ultra rare McLaren F1 LM in its bright orange and carbon fiber paint scheme. They will then think about how much they want one of their own. While Lotus has no official plans to produce the GT-3, insiders say they may be easily swayed into making a few track-only models. We say, GO FOR IT!
The Lotus Exige is easily one of the most aggressive cars on the road today. Its light weight and high thrills ratio makes it a very competent and competitive track car, and it is almost unfathomable to make it better. Well, the GT-3 did it. With even more weight loss, a new rear spoiler, and stronger brakes on all four corners, the GT-3 will try even harder to sling you out of the unbelievably comfortable looking interior.
The GT-3 features a 271 horsepower supercharged 1.8 liter engine, which, takes the super lightweight rocket to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. That's supercar territory folks. Track tests have shown that it demolishes the Exige S, and will even overtake the Exige Cup Car.
Lotus is making a habit of one-upping themselves continuously each year, but who are we to complain? Stay tuned to RPM Planets for more awesome concept cars from the Geneva Auto Show.
