Its finally here! The 2008 BMW M3 Coupe was debuted at the New York Auto Show. Featuring the M3s first V8 engine ever it is
guaranteed to make quite an impression in the automotive world.
The most important feature of this all new BMW is the all
aluminum V8 engine that produces 420 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The engine redlines at an astounding 8400
rpm, but the greatest part is the fact that the V8 engine weighs 33 pounds less
than the previous generation inline six engine. This weight reduction at the front of the car makes the car accelerate,
brake, and handle better than before.
An all aluminum suspension allows drivers to cut apexes at
will, while trying to keep themselves glued to the leather seats. Another great feature is the carbon fiber
reinforced roof. The use of carbon fiber
cuts about 11 lbs. from the highest point of the car.
This car is quite a display of German technology. It will be interesting to see how many awards
this car wins in the next year, as it is obvious that BMW engineers put many
hours into the design and execution of this amazing vehicle. Stay tuned to RPM Planets for more great
sports coupes.
