To say the all new Audi R8 has been a hit would be one of the most drastic understatements of the year. Its sleek lines have earned it a place as one of the sexiest vehicles of all time, and its use of cutting edge technology has made it a fan favorite. Not to disappoint, Audi has prepared one of the coolest concepts to ever hit the floor of the Geneva Motor Show, the Audi R8 V12 TDI Le Mans edition.
Boasting an outrageous 500 hp and 737 ft-lbs of torque, the V12 TDI is the first road-going car equipped with a twelve cylinder engine. What is more impressive than the insane torque figure, is that the engine reaches maximum torque at a nearly-idling-rpm of only 1750 rpm. The Le Mans is supposedly good for more than 186 mph, and a zero-to-sixty time of merely 4.2 seconds. We have to assume that hooking up the rear tires is quite a challenge when your max torque comes in almost as soon as you let off the brake pedal. While it seems outrageous, the diesel engine is fed by twin turbo chargers at over 38 psi. This car is an absolute animal.

Subtle, but sensational changes to the body panels make a huge impression, while huge wheels and tires fill the fenderwells. It was hard to imagine a car that looked better than the normal Audi R8, but I believe Audi has outdone themselves with this V12 TDI. It is phenomenal. A sport tuned suspension coupled with huge brakes make the R8 beg you to throw it into another apex, or stop it from top speed as fast as you possibly can.
Stay tuned to Planet Euro and RPM Planets as more fantastic vehicles make their appearances at the Geneva Motor Show.
