Audi TT - front right

Back in August, we showed you some spy shots of the Audi TT convertible and now we're back to tell you about the two variants of Audi's TT Roadster that are ready to hit the road. The top end model is a 3.2 liter V6 (250hp) with the all-wheel drive quattro system and the base model is a 2.0 liter TFSI (200hp) that is available only as a front-wheel drive. The powertrain choices in either setup are a conventional six-speed manual or a dual-clutch system, dubbed "S tronic" by Audi. The TT Roadster is expected to see dealerships early next year with a price tag in the same range as the prior model.

The 2.0 liter version, with the S tronic gearbox, is able to move from 0 to 100km/h in a decent time of 6.5 seconds while the 3.2 liter V6 makes the sprint in just 5.9 seconds. While that short dash is but a tip of the iceberg, Audi dampens some of the high-speed fun by electronically limiting the TT Roadster to 250km/h.

Rather than opting to utilize a folding metal roof, the new TT Roadster remains with a fully automatic cloth top (available in black or dark grey) that has reduced noise levels due to extra insulation added. Full-coverage to top down time is about 12 seconds in total and the rag roof can even be lowered while moving at speeds of less than 50km/h so no one is left waiting to enjoy the spirit of this nimble sports car.
Audi
Audi's contemporary quality abounds not only in function, but in form as well. The continued superior craftsmanship is evident even in the finest of details. The stitching (below) is but one of the many polished details that can be found in all of Audi's products.
