The very cool, and yet very different F1-look-a-like, the Caparo T1, was recently filmed testing at a racetrack. The awesomely lightweight and nimble machine has an amazing tone, similar to that of, yep, you guessed it, an F1 car.
The T1 has been under development for some time now, and with its prototypes recently completed, we have been anxious to see the cars in action. Powered by a 3.5 liter V8 engine, the 1100 lb car flat out goes wild on the track. The prototype cars were running a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine and running sub 3 second zero to sixty times. Just imagine the V8's times...
While the straight-line performance is rocket like, one must take the T1 into the corners to realize its full potential. The low ride height and sports tuned suspension try to sling you out of the car in the high speed corners, and the lack of a windshield make it easy to see exactly what is in front of you. All it takes is one (or ten if you are mesmerized like we were) views of the video to see that this car is more fun than a barrel of monkeys. The staff at RPM want one as a grocery getter/daily driver. Stay tuned to RPM Planets for more Caparo T1 updates.
