BRABUS is at it again to set itself apart from the elite
pack of performance sedans. Its latest
creation, the BRABUS Bullit, will not only set itself ahead of the worlds fastest
sedans, but many of the worlds supercars as well. Take the already potent Mercedes C-Class, add
some air-splitting body panels, performance suspension, top it off with a 720
HP BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo engine and youve got the venerable 224 mile per hour
Bullit. As if you werent jealous enough,
the 6.3 liter outputs 974 lb-ft of neck-breaking torque. With a certain amount of obedience in mind
for the driver, BRABUS has electronically limited the in-car torque to a mere
811 ft-lbs.
From the engine, power is sent via a beefed-up 5 speed automatic
transmission and finally onward to an equally stout, locking rear differential. The Bullit will be equipped with the option
of 2 different final drive gear ratios -- 2.65:1 or 2.24:1. Given the increased weight of the twin turbo
V12, BRABUS custom developed the coil-over suspension specific to the
Bullit. In order to bring what could be
considered a heavy-weight supercar down from speeds in excess of 200 mph, the
braking system employs 36 pistons total, 12 piston front calipers and 6 piston
rear. All this will be sitting on 265/30
ZR 19 steering tires and 285/30 ZR 19 drive tires squeezed into aluminum fender
flares stretched 6 centimeters beyond Mercedes body.
What exactly does this translate to on the European
pavement?... 062 in 3.9 seconds and the
aforementioned Bentley-beating top speed of 224 mph while riding in the luxury
of a hand-crafted leather and carbon fiber interior. If its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor
Show (IAA) makes you smitten, be prepared to meet the 348,000 on-demand asking
price. Be sure to stay tuned to RPM Planet and Planet Euro for more great sport luxury cars.
