When people think of the highest form of automobile luxury, most people think of Rolls Royce. The latest offering of the prestigious maker is the Phantom. This gorgeous super luxury sedan will make any passenger seem like the CEO of the biggest company in America. Its plush interiors, real woodgrain dashes, and most importantly, the attention a person gets from the words themselves: Rolls Royce. Now, for 2008, Rolls Royce takes it a step further by making the Phantom the most stylish convertible cruiser in the world.
The car bearing the title "Phantom Drophead Coupe" has been in the works since 2004. It will finally be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January. Featuring an all aluminum frame and a 6.75 liter V12 engine, the Drophead takes it passengers to sixty miles an hour in a mere 5.7 seconds.
The exterior is as amazing as the rest of the car. Brushed steel hood and a pillar sparkle in the sunlight, and the teak convertible storage space causes no loss of space in the trunk area. Borrowing from the elegant features of the Phantom Sedan, the rear doors are hinged in the rear, so they open suicide style.
For those with the means and the want, the Drophead will be on sale mid 2007 for a mere $407,000, and that's before you pick out all the options. Stay tuned to Planet Euro and RPM Planets for more awesome Detroit Auto Show unveilings. |
