How does one take a work of refined art and make it even more appealing? It's no simple task, but one group does have an answer. TechArt Automobildesign knows the Porsche lineup better than most and has achieved a stunning feat--they improved (yes, believe it) upon a limited edition, midengine Porsche Carrera GT. Starting inside the engine bay, TechArt applied some relatively tame modifications, including the addition of a modified intake system and a world-class stainless steel sport exhaust system. Promising gains are achieved as a result, with a boost in power from 612 to 635 horses.

Adding to an already incredibly appealing body, TechArt took the initiative to make the Carrera GT even more aerodynamic and eye-pleasing. Carbon-fiber body panels are utilized, in addition to a one-piece lip spoiler and an air outlet on the front fascia, as well as a "gurney flap" on the rear that extends upward with the rear wing at speed. These are but a few of the tantalizing tidbits of spice added to this fantastic automobile feature.

In contrast to the car shown here, one customer requested to have exposed carbon-fiber pieces to give contrast to the metallic orange paint scheme. Further, he chose to have a leather-and-carbon-fiber steering wheel and gearshift lever made of exposed carbon fiber to continue with the theme. This sampling just shows how far TechArt will go to custom-tailor the entire vehicle to cater to a given customer's tastes and preferences. |
