In 2009, GM will throw down the first 500+ horsepower sedan
to come out of The Big Three, the Cadillac CTS-V. With an estimated 515 to 525 hp from a new
supercharged V8, this luxo-rocket should provide some American competition to a
decidedly German collection including the BMW M5, Audi RS6 and Mercedes E63 AMG.
The new CTS-V will be powered by a motor being called the LSA,
a supercharged small-block V8 that features an integrated intake
manifold/supercharger unit. A
redesigned rear end should help eliminate wheel hop and a huge helping of
Brembo brakes will handle the slow-down duty.
A new front fascia can be seen, with much larger openings,
as well as a new hood, under the disguise in the spy shots. A new rear fascia with larger exhaust is to
be expected as well. Stay tuned to
RPMPlanets for more information as it is obtained!
