The thing I like most about visiting the North American International Autoshow every year is seeing all of the future design hints that all of the automakers show us (the general public). The picture you see here is of the 2007 Jeep Trailhawk Concept that will make its public debut in a couple of weeks. The name is inspired from two intersecting diagonal lines from the headlights. Two Jeep trademark features can easily help recall the heritage: first the seven slot vertical grille just above the bumper. Second the round headlights. Although these are behind a plastic bezel, the shape is still there and you can tell that it is a Jeep, even if only a concept of things to come.
This particular concept is built from the completely new 2007 Jeep Wrangler or TJ to the Jeep folks. Jeep also claims that the inspiration comes from a cross between the Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee but I only see the GC from the pictures. Some other features of the concept are a load and go cargo floor (a la Dodge Nitro) and a full length center console with plenty of storage capacity. Stay tuned to RPM for more information on this, and many other vehicle debuts coming as we approach 2007. |
