The Subaru WRX STI has been a sweet hit on the streets. Its all wheel drive and 300 horsepower 4 cylinder engine make it one of the most potent cars on the road. Race inspired suspension and brakes keep it at home on the race tracks, and the cars are nearly indestructible on the autocross circuit. However, there are a few drawbacks for some of the older crowd. In an age where movies can inspire an entire generation of cars, some enthusiasts are left wanting a more subtle choice. This is where Subaru steps in, with the all new WRX STi Limited.

The much anticipated Skyline GTR that we reported on last month has been featured in a video in which it is seen in motion on a race track. The car's sharp lines and amazing stance will soon be on US shores, and the word is that Nissan will finally be bringing this one over.

Toyota recently announced that they would be making a TRD version of their popular new SUV, the FJ Cruiser, which is modeled after the classic Toyota Land Cruisers. A limited run of only 3200 specially optioned Cruisers will feature Bilstein shocks and struts, 16 inch TRD wheels, TRD high flow exhaust, and an all black paint scheme. Side airbags provide additional safety, and a 6 disk CD changer provides the tunes. Manual transmission equipped models receive a quick shifter, while all model get special TRD logo floor mats and rear cargo mats. Expect to pay $7,265 additional dollars for the manual version, or $7,250 for the automatic. The 2008 Nissan Skyline has been just been caught on film over in Germany. It recently made landing for some aggressive (no doubt) testing on the Nürburgring this week and some photographer spies have already snapped some shots of the new, near-production supercar. Some sources have hinted at this being the 2009 model, but the revamped production version is due out in 2008 and will likely feature a twin-turbo 3.5 or 3.8 liter V-6. All that's been told is to keep an eye out for something "in excess of 450 horsepower." The new Skyline is expected to reach Japanese showrooms soon after its official debut at the 2007 Tokyo Show and will hit U.S. soil in early 2008. Check out more shots of the car, below.

It's been 3 years since the Acura division produced any cars that carried the Type-S badge. That wait is all but over now, as Acura will be re-introducing the Type-S into the 2007 TL line up. Previous generations of the Type-S line included the TL and CL. This time around only the TL is in production, but you have a choice of a 6 speed manual gearbox or a 5 speed automatic with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters when you check the option box for Type-S. Power comes from a 3.5L V6 that makes 286 horsepower and 256 lb-ft of torque. The base TL comes with a 3.2L V6 that will propel the car to 60MPH (from a stop) in the low-7 second range.

The once edgy Honda CRV has rounded out and taken upon the increasingly popular egg shape look. With a base price estimated around $21,500, the 2007 Comfort Runabout Vehicle is expected to increase it selling power with the demand for crossover vehicles rising amidst concerns over fuel consumption and cost. Refinement is paramount in this next chapter of the CRV saga. Improving interior quality, ride comfort, and the overall impression of the CRV was a primary focus of the Honda engineering team. "Our goal," project leader Mitsuru Horikoshi said, "was to make it solid and tight and evolve from an SUV to a more sedan-like feel. We were able to achieve this through three main goals: lowering the center of gravity, making a more rigid body structure and improving the driving performance."

What happens when premiere cars and the information surrounding them hasn't yet been released? We count on foreign counterparts, such as Nihon Car & Bike in this case, to keep us abreast of upcoming model changes. The updated Lexus IS500 shown here will have a 5.0 liter V8, producing 420 hp and 405 ft-lb of torque; more than the 4.6 liter V8 many have expected to see applied to this fine specimen. A slightly wider stance, flared fenders, and a new wheel/tire combination all assist in bolstering the IS500's sport-promising look. When the IS500 makes landfall in the states, we'll get some more information and better images to share with you.

Debuting early next year (January 2007) is Toyota's all new Tundra full sized pickup truck. The launch timing was strangely close to the original launch of the new GM full size pickups. I wonder if GM knew about the Tundra when they pulled their GMT-900 program ahead 13 weeks. These pictures of an early pre-production test vehicle were captured by Autoweek reader Tim Yale in California. The new truck has a bolder design and a 350 horsepower / 350 ft-lb torque 5.7L V8. A 4.7L V8 and 4.0L V6 will also be offered. The new Tundra will try to gain market share in the last remaining segment dominated by the American car manufacturers.

A quick snapshot of this SUV considered to be the next Nissan Armada (photo taken in Death Valley) shows that it has a redesigned front end for starters. Interior updates are expected as well, as Nissan continues to update its latter models. The updates on the inside are a welcomed event, as the current model seems like a blend between a late ‘80s Toyota Land Cruiser and a ‘70s Cadillac.
