While Acura claims the vehicle shown (above) is merely a concept, it bears a strong resemblance to the second-generation MDX SUV which is claimed to hit dealerships sometime in the Fall. The concept is a complimentary design of Honda's California studio and also seems to be shaped with the mindset of sharp, yet sleek. |

Completing the vision of the of earlier debuted G concept, Infiniti recently rolled out the redesigned 2007 G35 Sedan at the New York Auto Show. The sedan and the coupe (to come in Spring 2007) both share traits with the coupe concept released back in January. The new G35 Sedan will maintain the DOHC 3.5 liter V6 as its powerplant, however, it now bolsters over 300 hp (a welcomed increase). Transmission options are a close-ratio 6-speed and an exciting paddle-shifted five-speed automatic. Rear wheel drive comes standard, but if a need for more footing exists, the option for all-wheel drive exists. |

Riding the trendy wave of being economically and environmentally minded, Fuji Heavy Industries, parent of the Subaru carmaker, is currently seeking a diesel engine to be placed in its flagship model for a 2007 launch in Europe. The diesel engine decision comes shortly after Subaru already reached an agreement with Toyota to gain access to their hybrid technology. "Now that we have this arrangement with Toyota, diesel engine development and production are going to be our priority," Chief Executive Kyoji Takenaka stated. He further added that fuel-efficient diesel engines powering half of Europe's cars were also gaining significant drive in major markets such as the United States and China. |

At first glance, you may think that Infiniti's Coupe Concept looks an awful lot like the G35 coupe and you would be right. That is due to the fact that it is the next G35 Coupe slated to be on dealer lots later next year. Of course, the production model will be minus a few of the goodies found on the Coupe Concept. LED headlights, the pop-up flush door handles, or the side-view cameras will most certainly be dropped by production. Other little bits that will likely not see their way into the production model are the full-length glass roof, the speakers integrated into the headrests, and the purple instrument lighting. But the Coupe Concept's paddle shifters are said to be considered for the street going version. |
