Recently, a group of engineers, race car drivers, and other folks closely associated with the Corvette namesake were interviewed and asked about the next generation Corvette, the C7, set to debut in 2011. With so much talk of a mid-engined car, some sound advice and information was passed on in this interview, and the consensus is that the mid-engine setup wouldn't be the best approach for Chevy to take. |

In the world of sports cars, manufacturers are having to raise the horsepower numbers year after year just to keep up with the competition. This year, Chevy does just that, adding .2 liters of displacement and 30 more hp to the base model Corvette. |

Friday the 13th is usually a day associated with bad luck and bad news, however, Bob Lutz gave automotive enthusiasts something to cheer about today. The Corvette SS that we have been drooling over for the past year is getting closer and closer to being complete, according to Lutz. When he starts saying things like, "We're way up there with Porsche Carrera GTs and Ferraris," you know we are in for something great. |

It is fun to look back and see the progression of automotive trends aimed at young car buyers over the last 50 years. In the 60's, it was huge boats with even bigger engines. Today, in the age of Hollywood movies, rock music, and three-dollar-a-gallon gas, the audience craves a completely different car. The Chevy Beat Concept appears to be aimed specifically at the young crowd, with its small exterior, great gas mileage, and large interior. |

With a list of accomplishments the size of a small book, it is no surprise that a driver would have a special edition sports car named after him. Ron Fellows has played a key role in getting the Chevrolet Corvette to the point that it the world of sports cars. With the release of the fastest Corvette in the history of Chevrolet, the heads of the company felt it was time to honor Ron with a limited edition Corvette Z06. With only 399 cars planned, it is definitely a limited-edition car to get your hands on. |

Chevrolet has taken the wraps off the completely redesigned Malibu. From the pictures (each image is linked to a hi res version) you see here, the redesign was a huge success. Visually, the car is sleeker, more refined and even more inviting to look at when compared to the model it will replace. The Malibu wears a new corporate grille and headlights that appear similar to the recent Cobalt. A metallic band dominates the lower side of the car, and the trunk finishes nicely. Mechanically, the new Malibu will ride on GMs Epsilon platform. This is the same platform that supports the Saturn Aura. The wheel base measures 112 and the suspension components should be identical between the Aura and Malibu. Just expect some changes in the suspension calibration to further the brand differentiation. Power options will range from 2.4L 164 horsepower I4 all the way up to the 3.6L V-6 with a paddle shifted 6 speed automatic transmission. |

A lot of publicity has been made about the demise of the electric vehicle these days and GMs role in pulling the plug on their pioneering EV1 program. But this year at the North American International Auto Show, General Motors is displaying a possible next step for the fabled plug-in cars. Appropriately dubbed the Volt this car features a 161 HP electric motor and a lithium-ion storage pack with 16 kWh of capacity which offers a range of 40 miles on battery power alone. |
