It seems people are going to great lengths anymore to combat the rising cost of fuel. Some have chosen to look toward the future, albeit with great expense, with a concept that may become reality sometime soon. Students at the University of Bath (in western England) recently took the wraps off a new prototype car, dubbed the CLEVER (Compact Low Emission Vehicle for Urban Transport). |

Forced induction is a sweet concept on any car. Turbochargers fit the bill quite nicely in any application. The only way BMW found to make it better was to double the dosage for the upcoming 3 Series Twin Turbo, 2-door terror. BMW has bliss coming in two different flavors: the 230hp/200 lb-ft of torque engine will be placed in the 328i, while the 300hp/300 lb-ft of torque powerplant will find its home beneath the bonnet of the 335i. |

According to reputable sources, New York collector and entrepreneur James Glickenhaus has recruited Pininfarina to build a one-off Ferrari, inspired by the Ferrari P3/4 race car series of the latter 1960s. Foundation for the project started with the last produced and completely virgin 2003 Enzo. Dubbed the 612 P4/5, the prototype will be debuted at the annual Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August of this year. Aside from the owner's bragging rights, the car is to resurrect and inject the opulent P4 style into future Ferrari models. |

Continuing to add spice to the lineup, Audi is now poised to offer a two-seat, mid-engine sports car, dubbed the R8. This Bavarian offering is believed by some to be on the road sans camouflage because of press deadlines for publications about a certain infamous French event in June, the Le Mans. Initially, the R8 was briefed as a Le Mans concept car at the 2003 Frankfurt Auto Show. Estimates to launch the R8 are for the Paris Auto show in September 2006, with first deliveries to North America sometime in 2007. Pricing is expecting to have the R8 slightly above the $100K mark, in base form. |
