While the prior SRT4 nameplate is being dropped from production, Dodge has other plans for the magical Chrysler 300 figure; its the horsepower rating for the new Dodge Caliber SRT4. The engine, a joint effort from the World Engine family, is a turbocharged (with intercooler) 2.4 liter 4-cylinder.
Matched up with a 6-speed manual transmission, the Caliber SRT4 will produce 260 pound-feet of torque for application to the pavement via a limited-slip front differential. The entire setup is reported by Dodge to move the Caliber from 0 to 60 mph in under six seconds. The exterior gets some mild touches with the SRT flavoring as well. An aggressive front fascia and grille are designed to maximize airflow to help cool the front brakes. A functional hood scoop is also in place to assist in feeding the 2.4-liter. Interior updates are as follows: sport bucket seats with side bolsters, aluminum pedals, a 200 mph speedometer, and a boost gauge. See more of the Caliber SRT4 |
