Nine point five liters, or 585 cubic inches of Detroit's finest. Proving that in today's world of forced induction, turbos and superchargers, you can still get the job done the old fashioned way. The newest creation from John Hennessey and Hennessey Performance is the Viper Venom 800R.
Sporting 810 hp and 810 lb-ft of torque, this amazing machine will reportedly run a 10.88 second quarter mile, and if you keep your foot planted, will take you to its maximum speed of over 230 mph. Zero to sixty comes before you can ever speak the words, in a mere 2.9 seconds. The car to be debuted Halloween day is bright yellow, and wears some choice Hennessey body upgrades, including its VenomAero front bumper and Dayton rear spoiler to keep the car planted at the 200+ mph speeds.

These amazing numbers are created by completely disassembling and replacing virtually every engine component. Forged pistons, a stroker kit, and reworked heads are key parts in the final product. Reportedly, the engine uses about five times the normal amount of fuel at 5500 rpm. All of the track testing numbers were performed on street tires, so one can only imagine the times this car would run when a set of racing slicks was bolted on. Stay tuned to RPM for more SEMA SRT releases. |
